(OLNEY)  in Junior College Softball yesterday – OCC lost two conference games on the road
the Lady Knights dropped a GRAC doubleheader to Wabash Valley, 4-0 and 5-0
the OCC ladies are now 14-8 on the year, now 4-6 in the Great Rivers Athletic Conference
the Lady Knights are scheduled to play a GRAC twinbill today at Kaskaskia College west of Centralia

 

(OLNEY)  in Boys High School Tennis yesterday – Olney won its season opener on the road
the Tigers defeated Fairfield, 8-1
* Connor Walker won the #1 singles match
* Tanner Hendrickson won the #2 singles match
* Jack Bettis won the #4 singles match
* Adam Brewer won the #5 singles match
* and Mac Alexander won the #6 singles match
the Tigers won all three of the doubles matches at Fairfield
* Connor Walker and Tanner Hendrickson won the #1 doubles match
* Kye Stallard and Jack Bettis won the #2 doubles match
* and the McDowell brothers, Cade and Coen, won the #3 doubles match
Olney won five of the ten junior varsity matches against Fairfield
the Tennis Tigers are back in action next Tuesday when they host Newton in Olney

 

(OLNEY)  in Junior Varsity Softball yesterday – Olney picked up a road win
the Lady Tigers beat Lawrenceville, 7-4 although the host Lady Indians outhit Olney, 9 to 7
* Aubrey Page led Olney with 2 hits, 1 run scored, and 1 RBI
* Haven Doll and Kaylei Eubank each had 2 hits as well
* Aubrey Page was the winning pitcher, allowing only 1 earned run and striking out 8
the JV Lady Tigers are back in action next Wednesday at Oblong

 

(OLNEY)  in Junior Varsity Baseball yesterday – Olney won again at home
the JV Tigers beat Robinson, 16-11 although the visiting Maroons outhit Olney, 13 to 7
* Kaleb Foster led Olney with a double, a single, a run scored, and 1 RBI
* Chase Williams had 2 singles, 2 runs scored, and 1 RBI
* Trevor Zuber and Jace Greenwood each had a 2 RBI hit
* Kaleb Foster got the win by pitching the final inning and a third
the JV Tigers are scheduled to play today at Flora

* Tim Weber, Ben Carr, Connor Brown, and Trenton Duncan in the 4x200 relay

the Eagles also had eleven 2nd place and eight 3rd place finishers

both Newton and Olney are scheduled for a six team meet today at Robinson

* Casey-Westfield won the Girls Meet by beating Paris and Neoga, 65 to 47 to 46
* Paris won the Boys Meet by beating Casey-Westfield and Neoga, 116.5 to 38.5 to 20

the Blue Knights beat Kaskaskia, 11-7 in eleven innings as OCC outhit the Blue Devils, 16 to 7
* Jacob Tapp won his first game of the year while pitching 2 innings in relief
* at the plate – Jayden Beshears had 3 hits and 2 RBI – Trey Fulton had 2 hits and 2 RBI
* also with a 2 hit day was Anthony Travelsted, Nolan Fertig, Phillip Archer, and Jordan Cozart
at 23-4 overall, 6-0 in the GRAC, the Blue Knights play a single game today at McKendree University

the Lady Tigers fell to Charleston, 10-1
* Olney’s lone goal was scored by Faith Stallard
* Lady Tigers with a strong match included Allison Herman and Tara Hughes
the 0-1-1 Lady Tigers are back in action tomorrow when they travel south to Herrin High School

the Lady Tigers lost to Fairfield, 6-4 while the hits for Olney & the Lady Mules were even at 9 apiece
* Aaliyah Wease led Olney with a triple, a single, and 1 RBI
* Cheyla Lamb had 2 hits and 1 run scored
* Sophia Colclasure, Maci Baker, and Kennedy Steber all had 1 hit and 1 RBI each

the Lady Tigers beat Teutopolis, 3-1 as Olney outhit the visiting Lady Wooden Shoes, 6 to 4
* Jesika Ochs had a game winning, two RBI, double in the bottom of the 7th inning
* Sophia Colclasure had two hits and Haven Doll had three hits and one run scored
* Sophia Colclasure was the winning pitcher allowing one earned run and struck out five
the Lady Tigers have won five straight games and are now 5-1 on the year
the Olney girls are back in action today as they travel to Fairfield to play the Lady Mules

the Tigers lost to Mattoon, 2-1 as the visiting Green Wave outhit host Olney, 7 to 4

(OLNEY)  in Major League Baseball – the Cardinals will wrap up spring training this week
the Redbirds finish their Florida schedule today thru Wednesday against the Astros, Mets, & Nationals
the Cardinals play their Minor League Redbirds in Memphis, Tennessee Thursday night
then the Redbirds play their Minor League Cardinals in Springfield, Missouri Friday night
the Cardinals open their season next Sunday night against the World Champion Cubs in St. Louis

 

(OLNEY)  in Junior College Softball yesterday – OCC had two GRAC games cancelled
the Lady Knights at Wabash Valley in Mt. Carmel were postponed due to wet field conditions
the 14-4 overall, 4-2 in the GRAC, Lady Knights are scheduled to host Lake Land tomorrow

the Blue Knights beat Kaskaskia, 18-1 and 6-4
the Olney Central College men improve to 22-4 overall, now 5-0 in the GRAC
the Blue Knights are back in action Monday with a single non-GRAC game at Rose Hulman

the Tigers slipped by Flora, 1-0 as Olney outhit the visiting Wolves, 3 to 2
* Mason Kocher was the winning pitcher, allowing no runs, only two hits, and striking out 8
* Braxton Burgener faced the final two batters to pick up a save
* Trey Puckett had two of Olney's three hits, while Jake Greifzu had the other hit
now at 3-1 on the year, the Tigers are back in action Monday when they host Mattoon in Olney

the Eagles lost to Charleston, 12-1 as Newton was outhit by the host Trojans, 12 to 4
* Newton's Connor Bierman had an RBI single while Noah Wagy had 2 hits and the only run scored
