(NEWTON) — The upstate IESA Regionals kicked off yesterday, with several downstate teams making their mark in the first round. Here are the results from the Class 2A and Class 3A matchups:
CLASS 3A:
- Monticello defeated Mattoon, 5-1
- Charleston triumphed over Danville North Ridge, 15-0
CLASS 2A:
- Casey-Westfield beat Bridgeport Red Hill, 16-4
- Shelbyville Moulton won against Vandalia, 11-1
- Altamont emerged victorious over Sullivan, 12-5
- Toledo Cumberland secured a win against North Clay/Clay City, 16-0

- Hume Shiloh vs. Marshall
- Oblong vs. Martinsville
- West Salem vs. Hutsonville/Palestine
- Mattoon St. John’s vs. St. Anthony

Looking ahead, the Regional Semi-Finals are set for this weekend, with Newton/Jasper County scheduled to play Monticello in Charleston at 9:00 AM on Saturday.
