(OLNEY) in boys high school tennis – Olney won it’s third straight & final Apollo Conference crown : * the Tigers scored 24 points to finish first in the Apollo Conference Tournament, followed by Charleston with 21 points – Robinson was third with 16 points – then Effingham, Mt Zion, Salem, Newton, and Paris * Olney’s number one seeded pair of Austin Zwilling and Nick Kuhl won the doubles championship by winning four consecutive matches over pairs from Mt Zion, Effingham, Salem, and Robinson * Olney’s Jordan Atwood finished third in the singles competition with individual wins over players from Paris, Mt Zion, and Robinson – his only loss was to a player from Charleston * Olney’s Levi Weiler finished tied for fifth in singles competition with wins over players from Newton, Salem, and Effingham – his only loss was to a player from Charleston * Olney’s Derek Walker & Andrew Garrett tied for fifth with doubles’ victories over other pairs from Newton, Robinson, and Mt Zion – their only loss was to a doubles team from Effingham the Tennis Tigers finish their regular season schedule at home tomorrow with Centralia
(OLNEY) the downstate SIJHSAA State Track Meets were Saturday : * Class S Girls at Salem : Pinckneyville won the State Meet – Noble & Olney St Joe tied for tenth place * Class S Boys at Salem : Nashville won the State Meet – Olney St Joe finished in twenty-second place * Class L Girls & Boys at Carterville : no results available at this time from the SIJHSAA we’ll look at the results of Olney, Noble, and Olney St Joe throughout this week
