WEDNESDAY WEATHER DISCUSSION (06/12/2024)

(OLNEY/NEWTON) A prolonged period of hot and humid weather conditions begins today and continues through the upcoming weekend and into next week, all courtesy of a high pressure ridge moving southeastward, out of the Midwest. Our high temperatures will be in the 90’s with heat index values near 100 degrees or higher Sunday into next week. Other than a strong upper shortwave, followed by a cold front, that moves through our downstate area late tomorrow night, with a slight chance of some spotty rain, there’s no rain in the forecast until next week. Stay tuned for continued weather updates and monitor a NOAA Weather Alert Radio for more forecast details and any possible warnings and/or alerts.
