REGIONAL WEATHER OUTLOOK

(OLNEY/NEWTON) It’s more of the same weather on tap for our downstate area on this last Wednesday in August 2025. Mostly sunshine with some afternoon clouds, plus a partly cloudy sky through the overnight hours, and then more pleasant weather conditions tomorrow, Friday, and right on through the upcoming holiday weekend. While upstate Illinois will see some rain chances through tomorrow and Friday, we’ll have a reinforced shot of cool air as a result. Our next significant chance of rain appears to hold off until midweek next week. Monitor a NOAA Weather Alert Radio for more forecast details.

(OLNEY) Here at the National Weather Service official weather station for Richland County, at the south edge of Olney, we have tied the record low for this August 27th. Our 48 degree reading in the 5:00 and 6:00 hours this morning ties the record low set for this date 57 years ago, in 1968. The National Weather Service is forecasting the below normal temperatures are expected to continue through at least the first week to ten days of September.
