(EFFINGHAM) Eight regional people have been sentenced to prison for distributing and selling methamphetamines over the past several year. The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Illinois made the announcement, saying the sentences for the eight dealers in Effingham County also included indictments for three other individuals accused of drug distribution. The prison terms of those convicted range from 60 to 144 months, that equals anywhere from 5 to 12 years behind bars. Several area law enforcement agencies, along with assistance from federal and state agencies, were involved in the investigations and convictions.
