(OLNEY/NEWTON) The 2025 archery deer hunting season begins tomorrow, October 1st, and runs through mid-January 2026, although with a few breaks in hunting in November and December due to the firearm seasons. The State DNR is especially reminding all area hunters to be extremely careful with their tree stands and to take all precautions to make safety the top priority of any hunt. Meanwhile, permits are still available for youngsters as the firearm Youth Hunt is set for October 11th thru 13th here in our downstate region.
