(SPRINGFIELD) As gas prices fall across Illinois, state and local governments may see a decrease in revenue from fuel and sales taxes, though experts say the effect on overall state finances is limited. Despite the drop in statewide gas prices over the past several months, the Illinois Policy Institute says the impact on state revenue is minimal as the state regularly brings in more than it spends in terms of the road fund, not to mention the yearly gas price increase that occurs when the statewide gas taxes go up automatically on July 1st.
(CHICAGO) Another quantam computing company is taking advantage of state incentives to establish its headquarters at the Illinois Quantum and Microelectronics Park on the southeast side of Chicago. The Illinois Department of Commerce & Economic Opportunity announced yesterday that Pasqal, a French company, plans to invest more than $65 million into a new facility and equipment while creating at least 50 initial full-time jobs.

(CHICAGO) The Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago’s National Financial Conditions Index (NFCI) has dropped to negative 0.55 for the week ending October 3rd. The decrease in the index suggests looser financial conditions in Illinois and mostly throughout the Midwest where credit is considered to be easier and cheaper for businesses as well as consumers.
