(OLNEY) The Richland County School Board met for its regular monthly meeting in October last night in Olney. The Board : approved the September financial report with the bill listing worth $2,190,172 : approved the tentative 2025 tax levy : approved the Effingham Asphalt Company bid of $271,235 for the RCMS playground : approved the $32,139 bid to buy RCHS Social Sciences curriculum with a four year contract : approved the 2026-2027 bus specifications with possible vape detectors : approved the Dual Credit Model Partnership Agreement with the IECC District : approved FGMA to proceed with the Athletic Building process : noted the District’s RiseUp Alternative School open house is next Tuesday night, October 21st, from 4:00 to 7:00 : and in personnel matters – accepted resignations from RCES Teacher Delaney Steber, from RCMS Paraprofessional Lindsay Hancock, and from Marcella Coats as Bus Driver & Part-Time Transportation Secretary (effective 5/24/26) – approved the transfers of Vanessa Pfoff from RCES Secretary to RCES Teacher Assistant, for Natalie Shryock from RCELC Paraprofessional to RCES Secretary, and for Amber Berkshire from RCMS Food Service Staff Member to RCMS Paraprofessional – agreed to hire Bailey Buerster as RCELC Paraprofessional – approved various volunteers for extra curricular activities and athletics – and approved the 2025-2026 RCHS Extra-Duty Spring Coaches : Chad Koester for Bass Fishing, Matt Powell for Head Softball, Jessica VanDyke for Assistant Softball, Kady Stallard for Girls Soccer, Drew Muston for Boys Tennis, Ryan Denton for Head Boys Track, Klay Wheeler for Assistant Boys Track, and Amy Julian for Head Girls Track : the Richland County School Board’s next regular monthly meeting will be November 18th, 2025.
