REGIONAL WEATHER OUTLOOK

(OLNEY/NEWTON) With the second of two cold fronts moving through our downstate area by early yesterday morning, our 24-hour regional rainfall totals averaged from a low of one inch up to over four inches in some spots in southeastern and south central Illinois. Here at the official weather station for Richland County, at the south edge of Olney, we recorded just under two inches of much-needed rain. As the wind switches from the northwest back from the south today, we’ll have plenty of sunshine on this Monday, but a another wind switch from the west will bring in strong gusts tomorrow, with cooler air filtering in for the rest of the work week with more rain chances for the upcoming weekend. Stay tuned for updates and monitor a NOAA Weather Alert Radio for more weather forecast details.
