there were twelve teams at the Edwards County Tournament at Albion
Newton finished in third place with three wins and two losses
the Lady Eagles won both Pool Play matches, beating Grayville (2) and Carterville (3)
then in Gold Bracket play Newton beat Effingham (3) but lost to NCOE (2)
the Lady Eagles then lost to Edwards County in three games
Newton was led on the day by several players
Hydi Bierman, Amy Shull, Morgan Schafer, Grace Schumacher, and Joslynn Pitcher
the Lady Eagles are scheduled to play at Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg tonight
