(EFFINGHAM) The investigation is continuing into a fatal traffic crash that occurred at around 8:30 this past Sunday morning at the east edge of Dieterich in Effingham County. The Illinois State Police report 39 year old Nathan Roley of Dieterich was driving a pickup truck when it crossed the centerline and struck a van driven by 63 year old Jacqueline Adams of Wheeler. While Adams was pronounced deceased at the scene, Roley was taken by helicopter from the scene to an area trauma center for treatment of injuries. Closed for nearly four hours, the roadway was reopened at around 12:30 Sunday afternoon. Various emergency agencies from Dieterich and Effingham County responded to the scene to assist the Illinois State Police.
