REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING LAST NIGHT

(OLNEY) The Richland County School Board of Education held its regular monthly meeting for November last night in Olney. The Board : approved the October financial report with the bill listing at $1,465,978 : approved the 2025 Tax Levy as presented : approved a resolution to issue General Obligation School Bonds for the District to improve school facilities : approved contract with GeoSurfaces for the District’s Athletic Complex, including football, baseball, and softball fields with bleachers at a total cost of $14,886,000 : approved the School Resource Officer contract with the Richland County Board to now provide three SRO’s for the District : approved an Electric Service Agreement with Homefield Energy, beginning December 2025 and ending June 2027 for Ameren utilities : noted the 2025 Illinois School Report Card with the District’s High School, Middle School, & Elementary School all receiving “Commendable” status : noted the RCHS FFA members for their participation in the recent National Convention : recognized the RCES Legacy Team for their outdoor classroom work : agreed to seek bids for District fuel in 2026 : and in personnel matters – accepted resignations from Sandy Wieneke as Assistant Paymaster, Dawn Hemrich as RCES Paraprofessional, Brooke Wheeler as RCHS Assistant Cheer Coach, and Jason Burckhartt as RCHS Boys Head Soccer Coach – transferred Trinity Milburn from RCHS Food Service Manager to RCMS Food Service Staff Member – employed Madelyn Rusk as Mental Health Counselor at RCES, Kaila Kirkwood as RCHS Food Service Manager, and Dan Brant as District Maintenance – approved seven extra-duty assignments as RCES After-School Tutors – and approved six extra-duty assignments for volunteer & assistant coaches & sponsors : the Richland County School Board’s next regular monthly meeting will be December 18th, 2025.
