LOCAL LEAF COLLECTION EFFORTS CONTINUE

(OLNEY) As the City of Olney’s leaf collection program continues with the leaf machines driving through the City picking up those loose leaf piles, citizens are reminded to place their leaves as close to the roadway as possible, but not in ditches and not in the streets. Plus a note that since the leaf machines are specifically designed to vacuum leaves only, yard waste like sticks, branches, logs, garden debris, or trash cannot be picked up by City crews. If bagging leaves, citizens can place the bags near the street and call the Olney City Hall when the bags are ready for pick up. For those do-it-yourselfers, the City’s Brush Dump is open to the public to drop off leaves and all other landscape waste. The facility on West Mack Avenue is open on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, from 10:00 to 4:00, each day.

(NOBLE/NEWTON) The leaf collections continue elsewhere. In Noble, citizens can call the Village Hall when their leaves are placed by the streets and are ready for pick up with workers picking up leaves Monday through Thursday, from 8:00 to 3:00 each day. In Newton, citizens can call City Hall during regular office hours when their leaves are ready to be picked up or call the Street Department after hours to leave a message with the address where leaves are ready.
