(OLNEY) The Richland County School Board met in special session last night in Olney. The Board : discussed, but took no action on the District’s newly proposed Athletic Building and comparison between a masonry and pre-engineered metal structure : in personnel, approved the resignation of Andy Thomann as RCHS Head Boys Basketball Coach : approved the transfer of Dakotah Brown from RCHS Assistant Boys Basketball Coach to RCHS Interim Head Boys Basketball Coach : approved Charlie McDowell as the new RCHS Assistant Boys Basketball Coach while continuing of RCHS Boys Freshman Coach, all for the remainder of the 2025-2026 season : also approved the extra-duty assignments of Lori Westall, Clare Workman, Samantha McGriff, and Mariah Werner as RCES After-School Tutors and Carly Page as RCMS After-School Tutor, all for the remainder of the 2025-2026 school year : the Board’s student discipline hearing was postponed from last night and rescheduled for next Monday evening, February 9th, at 5:00 : the Board’s next regular monthly meeting will be February 19th, at 6:00, in Olney.
