(OLNEY) A fundraiser for an upcoming Mt. Gilead Church Mission Trip is set for next Wednesday, February 25th, at Monical’s Pizza along East Main Street in Olney. With fundraising fliers available at Monical’s, a flier must be filled out and accompany an order for 20% of an order’s receipt to be donated to the Mission Trip fund, plus the fundraising flyer must be mentioned when ordering carry out, all courtesy of Monical’s Pizza next Wednesday.

(OLNEY) The next Queen of Hearts drawing at the Olney VFW Post is this coming Sunday afternoon at 4:00, with tickets on sale all this week and always open to the public. This week’s jackpot will be over $13,800 with all the Queen of Hearts ticket sales to support the VFW Post Home, along with local Veterans and their families in Olney and Richland County.

(NEWTON) The Newton American Legion Post 20 will host a Sunday Brunch this weekend with serving from 10:00 until 1:00 and an all-you-can-eat Brunch Buffet, including several hot bar items and a salad bar. The cost is $16.00 for adults and $6.00 for children ages 5 to 10 years old. That’s this Sunday and every other Sunday at 108 East Jourdan Street in Newton.

(OLNEY) Pride Richland County will host a Trivia Night fundraiser this coming Saturday evening at the Olney Eagles. With registration at 6:30, the trivia competition begins at 7:00. Teams of four people are welcome at $10.00 per person. Spectators are also welcomed.

(OLNEY) The Jay Jones Memorial Race Benefit is this Saturday evening at the Olney VFW, beginning at 5:00, featuring a pulled pork dinner, catered by The Smokin’ Pig with the $15.00 cost per person including a dessert. Also a silent auction starts at 5:00 with the live auction at 7:00, followed by DJ music and a cash bar will be available. All the money raised will go to support the Fourth Annual Jay Jones Memorial Race at Red Hill Raceway later this year.

(OLNEY) This weekend’s planned Farmers Market / Vendor Fair in Olney is cancelled.

(OLNEY) The Master’s Hands, at west edge of Olney, along Old Route 250, has a fundraising chowder this Saturday, with serving from 11:00 until sold out. The cost is $20 for a gallon or $10 for a half gallon and bring your own containers, but no glass. That’s at Master’s Hands in Olney.

(CLAREMONT) The Claremont-Bonpas Fire Protection District will continue its Friday fish fries at the Claremont Fire Station this weekend, with all proceeds to go towards rescue equipment for the firemen. With a menu of fish, popcorn chicken, pork loin, ham, pulled pork, baked potatoes, other sides, and drinks, serving on Friday will include lunch from 11:00 to 1:30, all-you-can-eat, at $12.50 per person, and the Friday evening dinner from 4:00 to 7:00, priced at $18.50 for adults, $10.00 for children 6 to 13, and free for children age 5 and younger. That’s this coming Friday and the next following six Fridays at the Fire Station in Claremont.

(OLNEY) The Olney Knights of Columbus Fish Fries on the Friday nights during Lent begin this weekend. That’s every Friday night at the Olney City Park Community Building with serving from 5:00 to 7:00, or until sold out, with the cost at $14.00 per dinner, plus refills available. The menu includes fried fish, hash brown patty, baked beans, corn, green beans, salad, and a drink, plus desserts available for a donation. Either dine in or carry out. That’s the next six Friday nights with the proceeds from this Friday night going to Mentor Richland County.
