(OLNEY) Eleven 4-H members from Richland, Edwards, and Wayne Counties delivered an excellent array of speeches at the recently held local 4-H Public Speaking competition held a week ago tonight. Categories of speeches included original works, formal speeches, an illustrated speech, and oral interpretations with topics ranging from cover crops to the universal swine ear notching system. Awarded for the top five speeches were Levi Clodfelter of Richland County for 1st place, Aleine Berger of Richland County for 2nd place, Niyah Hawkins of Edwards County for 3rd place, Shailey & Charles Roush of Richland County for 4th place, and Kenleigh & Silas Keyser of Wayne County for 5th place. With each county able to advance up to three speeches to the Illinois State 4-H Public Speaking Contest on April 25th in Champaign, the following were selected as State Fair delegates : Levi Clodfelter, Aleine Berger, and Seth Clodfelter for Richland County : Niyah Hawkins for Edwards County : Kenleigh Keyser, Addison Hutchcraft, and Silas Keyser for Wayne County : Shailey and Charles Roush were selected as State Fair alternates for Richland County.
