(OLNEY) The next Queen of Hearts drawing at the Olney VFW Post is this coming Sunday afternoon at 4:00, with tickets on sale all this week and always open to the public. The jackpot this weekend will be over $14,500 to the winner, who must be present to win. All ticket sales support the VFW Post Home, along with local Veterans and their families in Richland County.

(OLNEY) Claws and Paws is having a Trivia Night fundraiser this Saturday night at the Eagles in Olney. With the doors opening at 6:00, the trivia competition will begin at 6:30. Teams and spectators are all welcome to attend. Send a message to Sherri at 618-352-5366 for information.

(SAILOR SPRINGS) The Clay City/Sailor Springs American Legion Post 230 will have another first Saturday of the month breakfast this weekend with serving from 7:00 to 10:00, featuring pancakes, sausage, biscuits, gravy, and drinks, all for a donation at the door, plus carry outs are available. Also, the Veterans will have raffle tickets for sale for chances to win one of three guns during the Post 230’s next Meat Shoot, scheduled for next month, on Saturday, April 11th. That’s just off the Clay City/Dieterich Blacktop in Sailor Springs this coming Saturday morning.

(OLNEY) The Olney Knights of Columbus has another fish fry this Friday night at the Olney City Park Community Building with serving from 5:00 to 7:00, or until sold out, with the cost at $14.00 per dinner, plus refills available. The menu includes fried fish, hash brown patty, baked beans, corn, green beans, salad, and a drink, plus desserts available for a donation. Either dine in or carry out. That’s this Friday night with proceeds to benefit the St. Joseph School in Olney.

(NEWTON) The next Queen of Hearts drawing at the Newton American Legion Post 20 is this Friday night at 6:30, with the jackpot now sitting at $89,030. This weekend’s Queen’s Menu a fish fry dinner with two sides, priced at $13.00 per person, with serving from 5:00 to 7:00, or until sold out. It’s dine in or carry out at 108 East Jourdan Street in Newton this Friday night.

(CLAREMONT) The Claremont-Bonpas Fire Protection District will continue its Friday fish fries at the Claremont Fire Station this weekend, with all proceeds to go towards rescue equipment for the firemen. With a menu of fish, popcorn chicken, pork loin, ham, pulled pork, baked potatoes, other sides, and drinks, serving on Friday will include lunch from 11:00 to 1:30, all-you-can-eat, at $12.50 per person, and the Friday evening dinner from 4:00 to 7:00, priced at $18.50 for adults, $10.00 for children 6 to 13, and free for children age 5 and younger. That’s this coming Friday and the following four Fridays at the Fire Station in Claremont.

  • MONDAY (3/9/26) : it’s the next Lawyer in the Library program from 4:00 to 6:00 to meet with an attorney to discuss civil court questions – contact the OPL for required pre-registration
  • THURSDAY (3/5/26) : it’s Game Night from 4:00 to 6:00 at the OPL – all ages are invited to stop by and enjoy the new collection of board games and tabletop games provided by the OPL
