(SPRINGFIELD) The Triple A Motor Club is reporting the average Illinois gas price for regular unleaded has gone over $3.50 per gallon. While the national average last night was $3.47, the price in Illinois rose to $3.52, more than 46 cents higher per gallon than it was one week earlier. The highest price for gasoline in Illinois remains to be up in Cook County, at $3.74 last night.

(MACOMB) The Illinois Supreme Court will hear oral arguments with a crowd tomorrow at Western Illinois University in Macomb with an audience of around 600 students and local community members. While two cases will be debated by the state’s high court, a question and answer session with two Circuit Judges and an Attorney will follow the oral arguments. (SPRINGFIELD) The Illinois Student Assistance Commission and global education company Kaplan announced yesterday that the state’s test preparation program will continue through the end of this school year. Illinois taxpayers have spent $9.9 million for test prep courses to be provided free of charge for more than 12,000 students enrolled at the state’s public universities. Governor J.B. Pritzker proposed a $7 million appropriation for the program in fiscal year 2027.

(SPRINGFIELD) The Illinois Department of Natural Resources is now accepting applications for 2026 summer fishing clinic instructors for the department’s Urban Fishing Program. More information about the temporary positions, plus qualifications needed, and how to apply can be found on the dnr.illinois.gov website. The Illinois Urban Fishing Program began in 1985.
