REGIONAL WEATHER OUTLOOK

(OLNEY/NEWTON) With a high pressure ridge in the lower Mississippi River Valley and a surface low pressure system far to our north/northwest in southeast Quebec, we’re squeezed in the middle with another day of colder than normal air in place for our downstate area. Plus a fast-moving clipper system will bring us a period of light snow tonight with maybe a dusting of snow possible by dawn tomorrow morning. Then a warmup begins tomorrow and continues into the upcoming weekend with temperatures rising by some 40 degrees in five days, from today thru Saturday. At this time, no precipitation is in the seven-day forecast. Stay tuned for weather updates and monitor a NOAA Weather Alert Radio for more weather forecast details.
