ACE SURVEILLANCE RESULTS IN TWO CHARGES

(EFFINGHAM) Illinois State Police Zone 8 has announced recent results of regional Alcohol Countermeasure Enforcement (ACE) surveillance at various establishments in Marion and Clinton Counties last week. The detail was conducted to determine which businesses may be selling alcoholic beverages to minors, to those under 21 years of age. Out of the twenty (20) locations surveilled, two (2) of the establishments were involved in the sale of an alcoholic beverage to a minor, the Food Mart Cafe and Aldi’s, both in Centralia. The employees at these two businesses were cited for unlawful delivery of alcoholic liquor to a minor, a Class A misdemeanor. The other eighteen (18) establishments were commended for abiding by the state’s liquor laws.
