(OLNEY) The Richland County School Board of Education met in special session last night in Olney with most of the meeting held in executive session to discuss student discipline. After the Board returned to open session, it approved action to expel a student for the remainder of the 2025-2026 school year and for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year. The student will be referred to an alternative school and may return on Principal’s Probation the second semester of the 2026-2027 school year if the student completes 20 hours of approved counseling, passes the hair follicle test, and follows all rules while attending an alternative school. No other action was taken. The Richland County School Board’s next regular monthly meeting will be Thursday, April 16th, 2026.
