(SPRINGFIELD) The Illinois State Police welcomed 20 new Troopers last Friday from Cadet Class 152 at a graduation ceremony at the ISP Academy in Springfield. With all of the new State Troopers reporting to duty as of yesterday, one was assigned to Troop 8, based in Collinsville, the others were split between Troops serving LaSalle, Moline, and Chicago. This class brings the number of State Troopers up to 741 that have joined the State Police since 2019. 

(SPRINGFIELD) The Illinois Gaming Board has renewed the license for the Hard Rock Casino in Rockford for four years, retroactive to January 2026. The Rockford license was the first to be authorized by the state’s gaming expansion law in 2019. Also last week, the board issued a number of casino supplier renewals, video gaming licenses, and sports wagering approvals.  

(SPRINGFIELD) The Illinois State Treasurer’s Office is underway with its next online I-Cash auction of unclaimed property with a total of 150 lots available. A few of the items up for grabs are collectible cards of Hall of Fame baseball players Ryne Sandberg, Nolan Ryan, and Ken Griffey Jr., a 1917 U.S. Standing Liberty quarter, a set of 14-karat gold earrings, and more. For a list of auction items and auction details, go to the HiBid website or go to illinoistreasurer.gov

(METROPOLIS) A southern Illinois-based nonprofit dedicated to supporting neurodiverse people has teamed up with local law enforcement to provide free autism seat belt covers. It’s Inklusion Community, Inc. working with the Metropolis and Paducah Police Departments to share the seat belt covers which help alert emergency responders that one may have autism.
