(Newton/Olney) In High School Volleyball News –
The 2023 LIC Volleyball All Conference selections have been released. Congratulations to four (4) players each from Newton and Olney making the list.
There were 12 players on the All LIC First Team:
- Newton’s Brooke Schafer, Paige zumbahlen, and Elley Bennett
- Olney’s Aliyah Tracy
- Robinson’s Hallie Gower, Marisa Zane, and Kylee Weber
- Mt. Carmel’s Katheryn Blake and Grace Thacker
- Lawrenceville’s Serena Buchanan
- Marshall’s Claire Campbell
- Casey-Westfield’s Megan Cribelar
There were 6 players named to the All LIC Second Team:
- Olney’s Rylee Bloomer and Danielle Brown
- Robinson’s Elizabeth Shea
- Mt. Carmel’s Sarah McCorkle and Madison Stevens
- Casey-Westfield’s Malia Duniphan
There were 8 players that received an Honorable Mention:
- Newton’s Lilly Kessler
- Olney’s Maddie Piercefield
- Robinson’s Alexia Zane
- Mt. Carmel’s Maycee Randall
- Lawrenceville’s Emily Belleville
- Marshall’s Harper Richardson

Here is a look at the final standings in the Little Illini Conference.
There was a three (3) way tie for the Conference Championship
- Newton, Robinson and Mt. Carmel all had 6-1 conference records
Then a three (3) way tie for the fourth (4th) place position in the standings
- Olney, Lawrenceville and Marshall all had 3-4 LIC marks
The remaining two teams rounded out the 2023 standings
- Casey Westfield was seventh (7th) at 1-6
- Paris was eighth (8th) at 0-7
