(OLNEY) The Olney City Council met in regular session last night. The Council : approved the payment of all bills as presented : amended the City’s 2023-2024 Tourism Budget and donated an additional $20,000 for the Eclipse Festival to be held in Olney : approved the $8,000 purchase of a new utility line locator : approved an Annexation Agreement between the City of Olney and Doll Real Estate LLC for the 19.04 acre Northfield Subdivision : agreed to sell two City-owned properties at 200 North Lexington Street and at 207 North Saratoga Street : agreed to waive Special Event Permits for the DePaul University Solar Eclipse Event in Olney’s Musgrove Park on April 8th : agreed to waive food truck vendor permits for the Solar Eclipse Event in Olney : agreed to accept liquor liability for alcohol consumption in the area of the Solar Eclipse Event in Olney : agreed to move the Council’s first meeting in April to Tuesday, the April 9th : heard various updates and reports from City elected and appointed officials : and took no action, other than to adjourn, after an executive session to discuss real property, negotiations, & personnel : the Council’s next meeting is March 11th.
(NOBLE) The Noble Village Board also met in regular session last night. The Board : approved the payment of all bills as presented : approved the $699 purchase of four security cameras to be installed in the Noble Village Park at a cost of $50.00 per camera with an internet monitor to be placed at Village Hall : agreed to donate $100 to the Easter Egg Hunt to be held March 30th in the Village Park : agreed to close the respective streets for the May 4th Car Show, June 29th Freedom Festival, and the August 10th Chowder : discussed briefly some nuisance properties within the Village and noted that letters will be sent out to the property owners : shared with a Richland County Sheriff’s Deputy concerns about illegal burning and some speeding within the Village : noted that Villagewide Clean Up Day is set for Wednesday, April 24th : noted that Early Voting for the March 19th Primary Election will be available at the Noble Lions Club Building next Tuesday, March 5th, from 4:00 to 5:30 in the late afternoon : and noted that all ground decorations in the Noble Cemetery should be removed by March 29th for mowing and maintenance : next meeting will be March 11th.
