(SPRINGFIELD) Governor J.B. Pritzker left Illinois yesterday for an economic development mission to California to appeal to business and film industry leaders on the west coast. Alongside with those from the Illinois Film Office & Illinois Production Alliance, the group will meet with film studios and distributors to discuss increased chances for investment in Illinois. Plus the trip this week to Los Angeles will include meetings with film production companies to discuss Illinois’ tax credit and other incentives for film production.

(CHICAGO) An attempt to open the way for former Governor Rod Blagojevich to again be able to hold public office has been turned down. More than a decade after he was convicted on federal corruption-related charges, and after spending eight years in prison, Blagojevich went back to the courthouse to claim the state General Assembly was wrong to ban him from running for office. In a scathing decision, a federal judge said the judiciary has no power to “unimpeach, unconvict, and/or unremove” a public official from the past.
