RICHLAND COUNTY AG TEACHER RECIEVES IAVAT GOLDEN OWL AWARD

(OLNEY) With the 2024-2025 school year just days away from starting in Richland County, congratulations to a long-standing teacher for being honored earlier this year. With 35 years of teaching experience, it was this past spring that Richland County High School Ag Instructor and FFA Sponsor Mark Steber received a huge state award from the Illinois Association of Vocational Agriculture Teachers (IAVAT). Announced earlier in the year as one of five statewide finalists, Mr. Steber went through judging on the section, district, and state levels before being named the recipient of the IAVAT Golden Owl Award in Illinois. Presented to a teacher who pours their time and energy into their students and chapters, the award to Mark Steber is very much deserved, recognizing that agricultural education is so much bigger than himself and it’s all about “leading by doing” whether in the classroom, conference hall, outdoors, or elsewhere. Congratulations to Mr. Mark Steber.
