(CALHOUN) The Richland County Highway Department and IDOT have announced road improvement work to Calhoun Lane and to Main Street in Calhoun is scheduled to begin next Monday, September 16th, and take anywhere from six to eight weeks to complete. The work will include milling the portion of Calhoun Lane from State Route 130 to the Village of Calhoun, followed by a fresh lift of asphalt on this section, plus Main Street in Calhoun will be cement stabilized. Sections of the roadway under construction starting next week will be closed during the day and back open to local traffic each evening, however through traffic should avoid this section of Calhoun Lane and the Village of Calhoun altogether during the road construction work. Motorists should obey all signs and barricades during the work.
