(OLNEY) The City of Olney Water Department will be switching the disinfectant in the city’s water distribution system from free chlorine to chloramine next Monday, October 14th. Chloramines are the normal disinfectant used and the free chlorine has been used the past couple of weeks in conjunction with the city’s biannual hydrant flushing & water line maintenance program. Residents may notice a change in the taste of the water the first of next week until all the free chlorine is out of the lines. Patience is appreciated.
