(SPRINGFIELD) The USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) is busy. First with its December Hogs & Pigs Survey. The quarterly survey will provide comprehensive information on market hog and breeding stock inventory as well as pig crop and farrowing intentions in the U.S. with results available by the end of next month. Secondly, the NASS will next week start taking a comprehensive look into the 2024 production of crops by contacting at least 2,700 Illinois farmers and others across the nation with Agricultural Survey questionnaires to help determine 2024 acreage, yield, and production for soybeans, corn, and hay with results available by mid-January.
