(OLNEY) The next Queen of Hearts drawing at the Olney VFW is this Sunday afternoon at 4:00 with tickets on sale up until 3:55 on Sunday. This weekend’s jackpot is at $2,000, if the winner is present. The doors open at 1:00. The drawing will be streamed live on Facebook.
(NEWTON) The Newton American Legion Post 20 will host a Bingo Fundraiser this Sunday afternoon at 1:00 with the cost to play at $50 per person and only 160 tickets sold, however tickets must by purchase in advance. The $50 includes one packet of twelve bingo games, two early bird cards, two extra blackout cards, the all-you-can-eat soup & salad bar, and a raffle ticket. Plus raffle baskets will be available to win. Proceeds will go to benefit a new local business that will provide non-emergency transportation for the elderly & disabled to and from doctor appointments and more. (NEWTON) The Scott Avenue Christian Church in Newton will host a special program this Saturday evening for all area women, entitled “Aspire” and featuring three guest ladies for the one night, three hour event, an evening full of laughter, learning, stories, and music. The guest speakers include author & Bible teacher Melissa Spoelstra, comedian Dorie McLemore, and musician Jaime Jamgothian. Ladies are invited to come early for a fifteen minute panel time with all three guests as the doors open at 5:00, panel time at 5:30, and program time at 6:00. (NEWTON) The Newton American Legion Post 20 is wrapping up this week’s Veterans Day observance with some final work this weekend. Volunteers are needed to help Legion members at 8:30 tomorrow morning to fold the Veterans Day Flags for storage.
