ILLINOIS BASKETBALL COACHES ASSOCIATION ANNOUNCES 2025 HALL OF FAME INDUCTEES

The Illinois Basketball Coaches Association (IBCA) has announced the 2025 Hall of Fame Class, which will be inducted next spring in Normal, Illinois. This year’s class includes 111 individual inductees and 10 teams, with eight individuals and one team from the downstate area being recognized.

Players

A total of 51 players from across the state will be inducted, including four from the downstate region:

  • Keene Thomann (Olney) – From Missouri Southern State to the Denmark Pro Leagues
  • Tyra Buss (Mt. Carmel) – Indiana University
  • Paul Knapp (Flora) – Vincennes University, Rend Lake College, & McKendree University
  • Chris Aldridge (Taylorville) – Eastern Illinois and the WBA

Coaches

Out of 20 coaches being inducted, one is from the downstate area:

  • Doug Smith – Teutopolis Junior High Boys

Career Coaches

Five career coaches will be inducted, but none are from the downstate region.

Media

Nine media members will be inducted, with one from our area:

  • Steve Anderson – Currently at WAKO in Lawrenceville, formerly at WROY-WRUL in Carmi

Officials

Ten officials will be inducted, but none are from the downstate area.

Friends of Basketball

Sixteen individuals will be recognized as Friends of Basketball, including two from our region:

  • Linda Kalika – Teutopolis High School
  • Roy Rogers – Johnston City High School

Teams

Ten teams will be inducted, including one from downstate Illinois:

  • 2013 Harrisburg High School Boys – Class 2A State Champions
