(OLNEY) The investigation is continuing into a three vehicle traffic crash that occurred at approximately 11:49 yesterday morning in Richland County, along U.S. Route 50 near the Claremont Road intersection, east of Olney. Illinois State Police Troop 9 reports that 40 year old Jade Holmes of Sumner, an Indiana native, was westbound on Route 50, when for unknown reasons his car crossed the center lane markings and sideswiped an eastbound semi-truck and then struck a separate eastbound semi-truck head-on. While Holmes was pronounced deceased at the scene, the two truck drivers were not seriously injured, 62 year old William M. Bagley of West Frankfort, Illinois, and 60 year old Ronald R. Hasenour of Huntingburg, Indiana. No tickets were warranted. The State Police received assistance at the scene from Richland County emergency personnel, sheriff’s department, and coroner.
