‘WHAT’S HAPPENING’ THIS WEEKEND (02/28/2025-03/02/2025)

(OLNEY) Make plans now to attend the Natural Woman concert, A Tribute to Carole King, to be presented by Katie Pinder Brown, next Tuesday night, March 4th, starting at 7:00, at the Dr. John D. (STE. MARIE) All are invited out this Sunday morning to the Annual St. Mary’s Brunch with serving from 8:00 to 12:00 noon at St. Mary’s Parish Center in Ste. Marie. The menu includes sausage links, ham, scrambled eggs, biscuits, sausage gravy, breads, fruit, juice, coffee, and milk. Tickets at the door will be $10 for adults, $5 for children age 4 to 10, and free for kids age 3 and under. Also the Parish Youth Group will have a bake sale fundraiser as well.

(SAILOR SPRINGS) The Clay City/Sailor Springs American Legion Post 230 has another first Saturday of the month breakfast this weekend with serving from 7:00 to 10:00 with all-you-can-eat biscuits, gravy, sausage, bacon, pancakes, and drinks, all for a donation at the door. Above the breakfast costs, the money raised will continue to improve the infrastructure of the Legion Building. That’s just off the Clay City/Dieterich Blacktop tomorrow morning.

(NEWTON) The next Jasper County Queen of Hearts drawing is this Friday night at 6:30 at the American Legion Post 20 in Newton, with tickets on sale up until draw time, & a jackpot at $33,790 with half the proceeds from the winning jackpot to be used to make the building handicapped accessible. The Queen’s menu is a “build your own burger” bar with sides for $12 per person with serving to start at 5:00. That’s at 108 East Jourdan Street in Newton.

(CLAREMONT) The Claremont-Bonpas Fire Department and Claremont Village Board will again this spring host all-you-can-eat fish fries at the Claremont Fire Department. That’s every Friday for lunch and dinner, starting this Friday and running through Friday, April 18th. Lunch serving each Friday will be from 11:30 to 2:00 with fish, fries, hush pupplies, & slaw at $10 per adult, either dine in or carry out. Then a dinner buffet each Friday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 with fish, chicken, fish bites, spaghetti, fries, hush puppies salad bar, and sides at $15 per adult, $10 for children ages 6 to 12, and free for kids age 5 and under. $2.00 extra for dessert. All proceeds to support the fire department and village park project.
