(OLNEY/NEWTON) It’s more warm weather on tap for this Friday, but as a strong storm system approaches the Midwest, our winds will kick up this afternoon to 20 to 30 mph, with gusts expected even higher. The National Weather Service has a Wind Advisory in effect for our entire listening area for this afternoon through most all of tomorrow. The frontal boundary is expected to bring us rain, even some thunderstorms, that could be severe in nature, with possible tornadoes as well. The system clears out of Illinois by tomorrow night with some cooler air in place for Sunday, then dry and warm again for the first part of next week. Stay tuned for updates and monitor a NOAA Weather Alert Radio for more weather information, forecast details, and for any possible weather alerts and/or warnings.
(OLNEY) Yesterday’s warm and mild weather brought us close to another record high temperature, here at the south edge of Olney. Our National Weather Service WVLN-WSEI Weather Station recorded a high of 79 degrees on Thursday, two degrees off of the record high of 81 degrees, which was newly set just thirteen years ago on March 13th, 2012.
