(SPRINGFIELD) In yesterday’s USDA Illinois Crop Progress Report, there were 4.1 days suitable for fieldwork on average last week. While the state’s topsoil moisture supply was 72% adequate and 20% surplus, the subsoil moisture supply was 73% adequate and 12% surplus. As of this past Sunday, corn planted statewide averaged 7%, compared to the 5-year average of 11%. Soybeans planted reached 10%, compared to the 5-year average of 7%. Winter wheat headed was at 5%, compared to the 5-year average of 6%. The statewide winter wheat condition was rated 7% poor to very poor, 38% fair, 49% good, and 6% excellent.
