(OLNEY) A note to area waterfowl hunters to mark your calendars for Tuesday night, May 20th, four weeks from tonight. That’s when the Illinois Department of Natural Resources will host a regional public open house at the State DNR Office in Olney, along South Route 130, just north of the Routes 50/130 intersection. Running from 5:30 to 8:00 that night, DNR biologists will have a formal presentation at 6:00. Input gathered from the public that night will be used in relation to waterfowl hunting in general, including current hunting zones and future waterfowl season dates, specifically for the 2026 through 2030 hunting seasons. Plus hunters will have the opportunity to review DNR information, provide comments on proposed waterfowl season recommendations, and speak with DNR biologists. All invited.
