Summer Theater Performances at OCC
The OAC/OCC Summer Theater Workshop returns to the stage this weekend at the Dr. John D. Stull Performing Arts Center.
- “Finding Nemo KIDS” (Grades 1–4):
- Friday at 7:00 PM
- Saturday at 2:00 PM
- “Finding Nemo JUNIOR” (Grades 5–9):
- Saturday at 7:00 PM
- Sunday at 2:00 PM
Reserved seating is $10. Tickets available at iecc.edu/occ/theater and at the door.
Queen of Hearts Drawing – Olney VFW
The next Queen of Hearts drawing will be held Sunday at 4:00 PM at the Olney VFW. Tickets are available until 3:55 PM. The jackpot is at least $11,600 for a winner present at the time of the drawing. Open to the public.
Russ Tomblinson Memorial Poker Run
The 2025 Poker Run happens Saturday with sign-up from 9:00–10:30 AM at the Olney Eagles.
- Entry: $10 for riders, $5 for passengers
- Activities: Ride begins at 11:00 AM, followed by dinner, cup raffle, and chances to win a booze basket or family fun basket
- Proceeds support the Russ Tomblinson Memorial Scholarship Fund

Rep. Adam Niemerg’s Free Kids Fishing Derby
Hosted at Sam Parr State Park (White Oak Shelter) on Saturday for children ages 4–15.
- Registration: 9:00 AM
- Features: Boat & water safety demos by the DNR, assistance from local high school bass fishing teams, raffle prizes, and trophies for biggest and most fish caught.
Free and open to all kids.
Queen of Hearts Drawing – Newton American Legion
Tonight (Friday) at 6:30 PM at American Legion Post 20 (108 E. Jourdan Street).
- Jackpot: $50,020
- Menu: Free pork burgers or hot dogs with any beverage purchase from 5:00 PM until gone

Annual Chowder & Parade – Saturday
Join the Parkersburg community for a day of food and celebration.
- Chowder: Around 800 gallons served beginning at 11:00 AM in the Community Building; drive-thru available on the west side of the park.
- Additional Food: BBQ pork, salads, pies, cakes, and more
- Tractor Display: Opens at 10:00 AM
- Parade: Lineup at 12:45 PM, step-off at 1:00 PM
- Grand Marshalls: Francine Bricker Howard and Albert LaVan Bricker
Proceeds support the upkeep of Oak Hill Cemetery.
