(SPRINGFIELD) Farmers are reminded to apply to the Farm Service Agency (FSA) for a part of $16 billion in assistance for eligible crop losses as a result of natural disasters in 2023 and 2024. Provided through the Supplemental Disaster Relief Program (SDRP), the assistance is being delivered in two stages. While stage one signup started in person at FSA county offices back on July 10th, stage two signups will begin later this year, in early fall. To date, 5,754 applications have been approved in Illinois with $56 million distributed. Nationwide, $841 million has been distributed so far.
