(OLNEY/NEWTON) The Southeastern Illinois Community Foundation is offering new teachers in our downstate area grant funds for their classrooms. Applications are now being accepted for the Central Illinois Rural Teacher Corps Fund – New Teacher Grant to support first and second year teachers serving K–12 schools in the counties of Richland, Jasper, Lawrence, Crawford, Clark, Cumberland, Effingham, Clay, Fayette, Shelby, & Coles with the focus on strengthening the pipeline of high quality educators in rural areas and communities. Preference will be given to applicants who have participated in a Rural Teacher Corps program or who teach in districts with an active Rural Teacher Corps High School initiative. Applications are available on the southeasternillinois.org/grants website with the deadline to apply set for 11:59 on the night of Tuesday, September 16th, 2025.
