(MT. VERNON) The Illinois Department of Transportation has announced road closures on a section of Interstate 64 west of Mt. Vernon are set for next Tuesday night. Authorities say the section of I-64 to be closed is from milepost 62 to milepost 73 with crews conductin roadway patching and guardrail repairs. Eastbound I-64 will be closed from 7:00 pm to 2:00 am and Westbound I-64 will be closed from 11:00 pm to 7:00 am. While traffic will be detoured using Illinois Route 15, each direction of I-64 will be opened as soon as possible.
