EPA PROPOSED RENEWABLE FUEL VOLUMES

(BLOOMINGTON) Illinois Farm Bureau President Brian Duncan says he believes significant increases in proposed renewable volume obligations, as well as preference for domestic feedstocks will help provide market certainty for farmers, plus strengthen long-term demand for corn and soybeans. With the EPA requesting comments on the proposed rule change, increases in biofuel blending volumes go up from 22.33 billion gallons this year to 24.02 billion gallons next year and up to 24.46 billion gallons in 2027. The biomass-based diesel blending requirements jump from 3.35 billion gallons this year to 5.61 billion gallon next year and up to 5.86 billion gallons in 2027. Comments can be submitted to the EPA.
