(SPRINGFIELD) The Illinois State Police continue their search for a suspect wanted in connection with a Gibson City shooting which left two law enforcement officers injured. It was a week ago Saturday that 70 year old David Jordan shot a Gibson City Police Officer and a Ford County Sheriff’s Deputy while they tried to make contact with Jordan at his house. Both officers have been since released from the hospital. Jordan remains on the run.

(ST. LOUIS) New data from the Federal Reserve of St. Louis shows that Illinois saw a 33.5% decline in manufacturing jobs between 2000 and 2024. According to analysis by the group ETQ, Illinois suffered the 14th-largest drop in the nation with more than 290,000 jobs in the manufacturing section lost during the 24 year period.

(ST. LOUIS) A recent audit of the mail handling centers in St. Louis have found widespread problems resulting in delivery delays, lost packages, and substandard service which effects downstate residents, businesses, & municipalities. Earlier this week the Inspector General’s office released the audit findings, which covered two distribution centers in St. Louis, along with seven delivery units that they service. The audit revealed the St. Louis centers had more than 2.5 million delayed pieces of mail between June 3rd and 4th, the largest volume since 2021. A total of twelve recommendations were made and the U.S. Postal Service has agreed to start implementing all of the suggestions by the first of next year, January of 2026.

(SPRINGFIELD) The Illinois State Fair is continuing as today is First Responder Day and Healthcare Heroes Day with free admission for all police officers, firefighters, EMT’s, and Healthcare Workers who show their badge at the gate. With more livestock shows, the tonight’s Grandstand show has The Chainsmokers in concert at 8:00. The tomorrow is Park District Conservation Day with members from more than 45 Park Districts throughout Illinois on the fairgrounds, plus there are more livestock shows, a pickleball tournament, USAC auto racing at 2:00, a demo derby and boat trailer races in The Arena, and on the Grandstand stage Saturday night is Def Leppard. Then Sunday, the fair’s final day, is Family Day on the fairgrounds, with a cheer & dance showcase, draft horse pulling, a chili cookoff, ARCA auto racing at 1:00, and the Turnpike Troubadours on the Grandstand stage Sunday night.
