(OLNEY) It’s been announced that the City of Olney has received a Growth Award for the 2023 year as a “highly functioning municipality” in the way of local forest management and it’s the City’s third year receiving the national recognition. The City of Olney achieved the Growth Award by qualifying as a Tree City USA for at least two consecutive years and by completing certain activities in eligible categories totaling a certain amount of points. The categories include Education & Public Relations, Planning & Management, Tree Planting & Maintenance, & Partnerships. While Olney is in its 8th year as a Tree City USA, the Growth Award is a companion award that can be earned in addition to the Tree City USA recognition award. Congratulations to the City of Olney and to the City’s Tree Board.
