(OLNEY/NEWTON) A reminder to make sure everyone falls back one hour this coming Saturday night as Daylight Saving Time ends at 2:00 early Sunday morning. It’s done on the first Sunday of every November as we gain one hour of sleep. Daylight Saving Time first began in America in 1918 with the goal to lower fuel costs during World War I and after returning to normal after the war was over, it was reinstated during World War II. Then after Congress made Daylight Saving Time permanent for two years, from 1973 to 1975, it was extended to conserve energy during the nation’s oil embargo crisis. So don’t forget to set those clocks and watches back one hour as Daylight Saving Time ends this weekend.
