EFFINGHAM MEN HONORED / REGIONAL STUDENTS RECOGNIZED / NEWTON PUBLIC LIBRARY NEWS

(SPRINGFIELD) State Representatives Adam Niemerg and Blaine Wilhour both voted to pass Senate Joint Resolutions 61 and 62 to name two overpasses in Effingham in honor of Chief Warrant Officer 2 Christopher B. Donaldson and Sargent Timothy D. Sayne for their service and sacrifice to the United States. Both resolutions were passed yesterday in the State House and now are law. The families of both Effingham natives were in attendance at yesterday’s proceedings.

(SPRINGFIELD) Five regional students from community high schools have received the ImpactLife Student Impact Award, given annually to students who have shown exemplary support of our area’s blood supply. The Student Impact Award Program recognizes the many ways students can support the blood supply, as donors, advocates, volunteers, and/or blood drive coordinators. Congratulations to Karen Willenborg of Cumberland High School, Chase Ferguson of St. Anthony High School, Ryan Lillard of Villa Grove High School, Gracie Baugh of Oakland High School, and Mykah Gomez of Arcola High School.
