(SPRINGFIELD) U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins has announced the release of Congressionally-mandated Emergency Livestock Relief Program (ELRP) payments to cover grazing losses due to eligible drought or wildfire events over the past two years, in 2023 and 20204. The program provides up to $1 billion in assistance to livestock farmers without requiring separate applications. Instead, data already on file with USDA will be used to identify which producers are eligible for the ELRP payments. Questions regarding the program eligibility should be directed to each local Farm Service Agency office.
