(BLOOMINGTON) As days on the calendar get closer to June, farmers are reminded to keep crop insurance deadlines in mind when making late spring planting decisions. The final date for farmers to plant corn and still receive 100% of their guarantee in May 31st for the seven most southern counties in Illinois and June 1st for the rest of the state. For soybeans, the final planting date for the 100% guarantee is June 15th for the northern portion of the state down to Livingston County and June 20th farther south. Farmers are advised to talk with their county crop insurance agents about the final planting dates for their crops.
