FEMA HOSTING A FLOOD MAP INFORMATION OPEN HOUSE

(OLNEY) Representatives from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will host a Flood Map Information Open House for communities in Richland County next Wednesday evening, March 20th, from 4:00 to 6:00, at the Olney Public Library. The Open House will give residents a chance to review preliminary versions of Richland County’s recently completed Flood Insurance Study (FIS) Report and its accompanying preliminary Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRM’s). Experts at the Open House will help those attending to better understand flood risk and flood insurance, floodplain development regulations, and the mapping process, plus help folks learn about their specific risk and ways to help prevent flood loss. Richland County property owners, realtors, lenders, and insurance agents are urged to take advantage of this opportunity to learn more about flood risk and hazard mitigation. That’s next Wednesday from 4:00 to 6:00 at the Olney Public Library.
