(SPRINGFIELD) More than 600 FFA members from across Illinois were among the next generation of agriculturalists who met with lawmakers during Illinois Agriculture Legislative Day a week ago today, on March 24th. The FFA members while at the State Capitol passed out baskets of Illinois agricultural products to elected officials and spent the afternoon emphasizing the importance of agricultural education and FFA. The state currently pays FFA membership dues for every student taking agriculture classes in Illinois and it supports agriculture education through a line item in the Illinois budget of over $7 million.
